About Everest Base Camp Trek
Everest Base Camp Trek is an adventurous trek to the land of the Sherpa’s who are mostly known for their exceptional mountaineering skills, and the home to some of the highest peaks in the world, including the highest of all, Mt.Everest or also known as Sagarmatha in Nepali and Chomolungma in Tibetan. Everest Base Camp Trek has been voted as one of the best trekking trails many times and is a favorite destination among adventure seekers around the world. Most of the trek lies within the boundary of Sagarmatha National Park, which is listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site and is also the home of the rare & endangered species like Snow Leopard, Musk Deer, Red Panda, Himalayan Black Bear, and Himalayan Wolves.
The trek takes you to the base of the world's highest peak, Mt.Everest passing through the beautiful villages of the Sherpa’s with their warm hospitality and rich culture, an alluring forest of rhododendron, pine, and oak, numerous suspension bridges, quiet and peaceful Buddhists monasteries, prayer flags, stupas, chortens, and stunning mountain scenery. The spectacular views of Mt.Everest (8848 M), Lhotse (8516 M), Makalu (8463 M), Cho Oyu (8201 M), Nuptse (7855 M), Pumori (7161 M), Thamserku (6623 M), Mt. Amadablam (6812 M), and many more can be seen throughout the trek. The trek starts from Lukla after taking a short scenic flight from Kathmandu and again ends at Lukla.
