8 Days Kathmandu Valley Tour with Mountain Flight Itinerary
Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu
You will arrive at the Kathmandu airport where one of our team members will welcome you and take you to the hotel. And after he will brief you about the program.
Day 02: Visit all the UNESCO world heritage sites of Kathmandu
You will meet your tour guide in the morning and after having breakfast, you will visit all the UNESCO world heritage sites of Kathmandu- Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, and Swyombhunath Stupa, and Boudhanath Stupa. Most of them were built during the ancient and medieval periods. During the tour, you can visit lots of temples, stupas, monasteries, gompas, Bihar, ancient monuments e.t.c. and observe the different religious practices, culture, traditions, and lifestyle of the local people, and the amazing art and architecture of the heritage sites.
Day 03: Early morning Mountain flight then visit Khokana, Bungamati and Patan Durbar Square
You will go on a 1-hour mountain flight in the early morning. Then you will have breakfast. After then, you will visit the ancient Newari settlements of Khokana and Bungamati and Patan Durbar Square which is the ancient royal palace where the Malla kings lived. Khokana and Bungamati are two ancient traditional villages of the Newar people rich in culture and history with traditional houses and temples. After, you will visit Patan Durbar Square which is the capital of art and architecture.
Day 04: Visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Changu Narayan Temple and drive to Nagarkot
Today, you will visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square which is also the ancient royal palace of the Malla kings. You can visit many amazing temples and monuments here built with architectural perfection and artistic beauty. Then you will drive to Changunarayan Temple which is one of the oldest temples in Nepal built during the 5th century by King Manadev of the Lichhavi dynasty. After visiting Changunarayan Temple, you will head towards Nagarkot for the sunset view. From here, panoramic views of the Himalayas can be seen.
Day 05: Visit Dakshinkali, Chobhar, Pharping and Kirtipur
After the view of the beautiful sunrise and breakfast in the morning, you will start the tour of the day by leaving Nagarkot behind. Today you will visit some of the ancient, religious, cultural, and historical places like Dakshinkali, Chobhar, Pharping, and Kirtipur located in the southern region of the Kathmandu Valley. These places have many religious and pilgrimage sites full of temples and stupas.
Day 06: Visit Budhanilkantha and Shivapuri
Today you will visit Budhanilkantha Temple and the Shivapuri National Park area. You will start after having your breakfast. You will drive to Budhanilkantha, where a giant statue of Lord Vishnu on the bed of snakes, lies at the base of Shivapuri Hill. It is a major pilgrimage site for Hindus. After then you will drive towards Shivapuri National Park. You will visit many Buddhist nunneries and stupas along the way. While driving on the dirt road of Gurje Vanjyang and Dadagaun, the panoramic view of Kathmandu valley can be seen which is amazing.
Day 07: Free day
Today is a free day for you. You can visit around, roam around the bustling streets of Kathmandu, or just rest. In the evening, you will be taken to an authentic Nepali restaurant for a farewell dinner organized by the company.
Day 08: Final departure
After having breakfast, one of the members of our team will take you to the airport for your flight back to your home.
