About Khopra Ridge Trek
The Khayar Lake Trek is a newly opened trekking route in the Annapurna region, which is a great alternative to the other more popular routes. This trekking route is less crowded than the other trekking routes of Annapurna region. It is a peaceful and scenic route, located in front of Annapurna South, which is not very far from Pokhara. This trek offers marvelous views of the world’s 7th highest Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167 M), 8th highest Mt. Manaslu (8163 M), 10th highest Mt.Annapurna (8091 M) with Vara Shikar or Annapurna Fang, Mt. Machhapuchhre/FishTail (Holy Mountain), Lamjung, Hiunchuli and many more.
With few trekkers around this beautiful area, this trek provides an in-depth opportunity to explore and enjoy the views of mountain ranges through paddy fields, dense forest of Nepal’s national flower Rhododendron and observe the lifestyle, tradition, and culture mainly of the Gurung and Magar community. The major attractions are Khayer Lake, Poon Hill and the typical villages of the Gurungs and Magars. The trek starts from Kande following the popular route up to Tadapani. From there, we leave the main popular trekking route by entering into the remote Northside of Tadapani to Dobato. The trek ends at Nayapul.
