About Mardi Himal Trek

The Mardi Himal trek is one of the shortest and amazing trekking routes in the Annapurna region close to Pokhara. It is a newly opened trekking route, which is located east from Annapurna Base Camp and north from Pokhara. This new trekking route is the best option for those trekkers who are looking for an alternative to the busy trails around the Annapurna region. It is a peaceful and enjoyable trail with few trekkers.

The trail continues through the dense forests and arrives at the high camp. This trail crosses rivers, dense rhododendron forests, and small villages along with presenting great panoramic views of Pokhara valley, Machhapuchhre (aka Mt. Fishtail), Annapurna (I, II, III), Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, Hiunchuli, and Manaslu ranges. The trek starts from Kande after a 1-hour drive from Pokhara and ends at Khoramuk. Moreover, In Sidhing and Lwang Village, you will have the opportunity to experience the local culture and traditions by living in community homestay. The trek starts from Kande and ends at Khoramukh. Then from there, we drive to the magnificent lake town of Pokhara.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1350 M) and transfer to hotel

One of the members of our company will welcome you at the international airport terminal gate and take you to the hotel. You will have a few hours to rest. Later, in the evening, you will meet with the guide in your hotel lobby. He will brief you about the trip.

It is a free day for you. You will visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, etc. You will get to see the rich art, architecture, and culture of Nepal during the tour. In the late afternoon, you will arrange equipment for the trip.

After having breakfast, we will drive to Pokhara, the beautiful lake city. From Pokhara, we will continue driving towards Kande. Upon reaching Kande, we will take a small break and begin towards Australian Camp. Trekking through the forested trail, we will reach camp for the night stay.

The trail will go through the dense forest of rhododendron and many small villages. Today, the trail will go to be short and peaceful. Trekking on a forested trail, we will reach Forest Camp where we will stay for the night.

After having breakfast, we will ascend gradually through beautiful rhododendron forest. On the way, we will get to see striking views of Mardi Himal and Mt. Machhapuchhre. Trekking through the forested trail, we will reach Low Camp where we will spend today's night.

Ascending along the ridge, we will move towards High Camp. The trail will present us with beautiful views of Mardi Himal, Mt. Machhapuchhre, Mt. Hiunchuli, and Annapurna South. We will reach Badal Danda and leaving the tree line behind, we will arrive at High Camp.

Today, we will wake up early in the morning and begin ascending on a steep trail. The trail will be rocky and uneven in some sections. After a couple of hours of climbing, we will reach a ridge top known as Mardi Himal Base Camp. However, from here, we will again ascend for another two hours and reach the main base camp of Mardi Himal. Upon reaching here, we will get to observe wonderful views of the Himalayan mountains and Himalayan scenery.

Following a different route after low camp, we will trek down to Siding village. The trail will go through lush forests. In Sidhing village, we will get to see the lifestyle, culture, and traditions of the locals.

After having a warm breakfast, we will descend to Lumre then drive to Pokhara.

After having breakfast, we will drive to Kathmandu. The drive will be scenic and present to us the countryside view. Upon reaching Kathmandu, we will move to your hotel. In the evening, we will have a farewell dinner organized by the company.
