Day 01: Fly from Kathmandu to Paro (2250 M) and drive to Thimphu (2320 M)

Take a flight to Paro from Kathmandu, enjoying stunning views of the Himalayan mountains. Upon landing at the Paro International Airport, you get welcomed by our guide and drive. After about an hour and a half long drive, you reach Thimphu. The rest of the day, you spend exploring the city and visiting the Memorial Chorten and the giant golden Buddha Dordenma.

Today, you will dive deep into Bhutan's art and architecture. The day begins with a tour around Thimphu city. You will visit the local market, art workshops, indigenous medicine hospitals, monasteries, and museums. Later, after lunch, you drive to Punakha through dense forests, passing DochuLa Pass (3050 M). On the way, you get to see captivating views of snow-capped mountains and reach Punakha valley. Here, you will visit Punakha Dzong, an architectural masterpiece, and attend evening prayer in a nunnery.

You will wake up early and hike to Chimi Lhakhang temple, which is devoted to the Drukpa Kunley, a quirky Buddhist leader. This temple is also known as the fertility temple. Further, you drive and cross the DochuLa Pass once again to reach Paro. The drive will be scenic.

Today, the entire day, you explore around Paro and the day begins with a thrilling hike to the iconic Paro Taktsang, also called the Tiger's Nest Monastery. It is a 17th-century temple complex. If you want you can further hike up to the vill through the off-the-beaten trail to visit a few more ancient monasteries. While returning, you stop at Bhutan's oldest temple, Kyichu Lhakhang, and end the day with a delicious farewell dinner with the team.
